Found a way to hang photoshop
 

There are probably many other ways, sometimes it just hangs by itself. But just a warning to you guys out there, if you are not on a domain with adminstrative rights, DO NOT change the scratch disk location in preferences. Otherwise the next time your fire up Photoshop it will be well hung like a donkey. There is only one way to resolve that from then on that is to hard reset photoshop by holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift while launching photoshop. All your preferences and settings will be gone with the wind.
